A useful comparison
| Approach | Typical focus | Useful observations |
|---|---|---|
| SEO | Search discovery, crawlability, relevant pages and links | Search impressions, clicks, landing pages and conversions |
| AEO | Buyer questions and clear, supported answers | Sampled mentions, citations, accuracy and recommendations |
| GEO | Information used in generative search answers | Sampled sources, competitor presence and answer context |
There is substantial overlap. A clear product guide, a fast accessible page and accurate business facts can serve more than one goal. A change should have an identifiable purpose rather than three invoices with different labels.
What they share
Useful content, sound technical foundations and supported business claims help buyers evaluate an offer. Internal links make related information easier to find. Clear scope, pricing and examples reduce uncertainty. Relevant structured data can describe the visible information.
Google's guidance says there are no additional technical requirements or special schema for AI Overviews and AI Mode. Pages must meet its search eligibility requirements, and inclusion is not guaranteed. Read the primary guidance.
Where the measurement differs
Traditional search reporting can show query impressions and clicks to a page. A sampled AI answer review asks different questions: was the brand named, was its website linked, was the description accurate, and which alternatives appeared?
Those observations do not measure total market demand or prove that an answer caused a sale. Keep the date, country method and search experience with the result. Compare a consistent panel over time, then connect observable visits and conversions where the analytics support that connection.
What to ask before buying an agency package
- Which business decisions and buyer questions will the work cover?
- How many pages, refreshes and technical hours are included?
- Which platforms and target country are measured?
- Who supplies evidence, reviews the content and approves publishing?
- What is excluded, and when does delivery and renewal begin?
- How will I see completed work and the underlying observations?
Ask whether the same tasks are already covered by your SEO team. If they are, an audit or monitoring-only scope may be enough. If nobody owns the missing content or technical work, a managed package may be more useful.
How AEO Mint packages the work
Our managed AEO plans cover overlapping AEO and GEO work in one package. Starter, Growth and Scale vary by question coverage, content quantities, technical time and support. The audit and Monitor can be purchased without a managed plan; standalone content and setup projects have their own limits.
There is no separate “GEO surcharge” for describing the same tasks differently. Compare the complete INR and USD package scope or start with an audit when the priorities are unclear.
